I have the occasional privilege of hosting groups of teammates from various parts of the world as they visit the USA for events or training. I enjoy it. I enjoy being a de facto "ambassador" for the United States of America, for Texas, and for Houston.
A favorite place of mine to take them in Houston for a bit of recreation... ...NASA !An outdoor display of a shuttle atop it's 747 transport aircraft.
...it's big. There's a new exhibit...a Spacex Falcon 9 Rocket, which is the one that lands itself on a barge after providing a take-off boost. This one was used twice in 2017 before being displayed...something unthinkable for rockets just a short time ago.
But, it ain't as big as a Saturn V !
...as well as posing !
Lastly, we take a solemn photo in front of an image of the crew of STS-107, sadly lost in the February 1, 2003 Columbia disaster, including Indian Mission Specialist, Ms. Kalpana Chawla.
